OUR PROGRAMS.

We know you have questions about our programmes. That's why we have answered many of them. Find the answers below or contact us.

AIESEC MEMBER

1. Can I be a member without going on the Global Volunteer (GV) or Global Talent (GT) programme?

Ans: In order to join as member, you will have to join the Global Volunteer (GV) or Global Talent (GT). It is compulsory for all members. In AIESEC, we believe that all members need to have a global perspective towards current affairs when developing into young leaders. Hence, becoming an AIESECer and the Global Volunteer Programme come as a package.

2. I am currently in my final semester of school, can I still join AIESEC NTU?

Ans: Yes, you can. We welcome everyone who is passionate.

3. When can I join as a member?

Ans: At the start of each semester (i.e. in August and January of each Academic Year). Please do note that we have a strict member deadline policy to follow and any applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained.

Ans: This is inclusive of a $50 deposit which will be refunded at the successful completion of the project. The remaining $600 programme fee covers your accommodation and daily meals for the entire duration of your stay there. However, it is subjected to certain projects, so do check the project description for details.

2. What is the total estimated cost I have to pay? (includes programme fees, airfare, visa, transportation costs, living expenses, accommodation if any, training fees, etc)

Ans: The total costs depends on the countries and regions you go. For European countries, the estimated cost is around $2,000 to $3,000 and for Asian countries, the estimated cost is around $1,500. But it depends on your own personal expenses.

3. What are the chances of getting selected/not selected?

Ans: Firstly, the interview process is not meant to scrutinize candidates, instead, it is a platform for the host manager to know more about their applicants and for you to know more about the project you are signing up for.

4. When and how do I apply for visa?

Ans: You should only apply for visa once it has been confirmed that you are selected and approved by the host manager.

5. Do I need to plan anything before going for the project?

Ans: The projects have already been planned by the host countries and your role is to execute it. However, you are required to do some planning during the project. ( i.e lesson plans etc.)

6. What is the interview process like?

Ans: You will have to undergo two rounds of interview, one done by NTU and the other will be done via skype from the host country of the project.

7. Are there any requirements?

Ans: There is no requirement attached as long as you have a heart for volunteerism and to contribute towards the project.

8. Can I get a subsidy from school?

Ans: Since AIESEC is an external organisation, you will not be liable for any subsidies provided by the school.

9. Can I go for more than 1 project?

Ans: Yes you may, however you will be required to pay an additional fee for any project that you wish to undergo since the programme fee is only tenable for 1 GV/GT program.

10. Must the dates stipulated for each project be strictly adhered to? Can I go later or come back earlier?

Ans: It depends on the nature of the project. For some projects, the dates are negotiable while for others, the dates may have to be strictly adhered to. Although we strongly encourage everyone to go on a full 6-8 weeks experience, should you have a valid reason, we can help submit your request albeit subjected to approval.

11. Why should I apply for the Global Volunteer Program? How is it different from other volunteering  opportunities out there?

The Global Volunteer Program is different as a lot of time spent during the program is planned by the Exchange Participants themselves. You get the freedom to decide your itinerary for the 6-8 weeks besides volunteering - be it exploring the country on your own or travelling with other AIESEC members and exchange participants. Also, you get to work with volunteers from other parts of the world and form an international network of friends. Furthermore, you will be tackling one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while going on the project. Thereby, making an impact on the country.
